Laraine Wilkins contributed to the development of Mormon Literature as she served for two years as editor of Irreantum, the literary journal of the Association for Mormon Letters. Her life was cut short in an autommobile accident in 2006. She was herself a fine poet (see links and bibliography).
She attended schools in Provo and Idaho Falls and graduated from Skyline High School in Idaho Falls in 1983. She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in German from Brigham Young University and did additional graduate work at Harvard University.
She worked on university library staffs, taught German language at the high school and university levels, was a technical writer and software support technician, and served as editor of Irreantum magazine and as Director of Development and Community Affairs for the Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company in Salt Lake City.
