| Description The Mormon Literature database includes references to music only with respect to the literary content with which music is associated. Music lyrics includes poetry that was previously published but later set to music, as well as the lyrics that were composed specifically for a piece of music. At this time the database does not attempt to reference the lyrics of contemporary popular Mormon music. The database also includes the music lyrics of many people outside of the Mormon faith but whose words have become familiar to Latter-day Saints when sung or performed in Mormon worship services. | |

| Genre History As a music loving people, Latter-day Saints have composed lyrics to accompany their hymns and other songs.
