Dedicated to Elder Ezra Taft Benson, "for it was his inspired suggestion that led to this first complete volume of all-new LDS plays"

"This truly brings into fruition that which I have long felt was possible, which, I am sure, will not only help to maintain our high standards of stage production, but will also help to stimulate even more latent writing talent thorughout the Church..." --Ezra Taft Benson

from the Preface:
"This is the first complete volume of all-new LDS plays which has ever been published by the Mutual Improvement Association of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It marks a creative milestone in our history....
Since one of the main purposes of the MIA has always been to encourage the development of our powers to create, it has long been the dream of the Drama Committee to publish a volume of all-new work. This year it has been accomplished. Such volumes will be published in the future as often as it is possible to accumulate sufficient manuscripts of the necessary quality,"
