Annotations:
This, the official organ of the Relief Society, began publication in 1914 as The Relief Society Bulletin and became The Relief Society Magazine in 1915. Its predecessor was The Woman's Exponent which ceased publication in 1914. It was discontinued in 1970. This periodical was a very significant factor in the development of Mormon literature, publishing hundreds of short stories, plays, poems, and lessons about literature (see the overview, below, as well as the Relief Society Lesson genre).
